Arab League, Azhar, Egypt's Grand Mufti express condolences on Makkah accident

CAIRO, Sept 12 (KUNA) -- Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Araby expressed deepest condolences for the victims of the collapse of a giant crane in the vicinity of the Holy Mosque in the Saudi city of Makkah on Friday.
Al-Araby, in a brief statement, also wished speedy recovery for the wounded.
Eighty-seven people were killed and at least 184 others injured when the crane fell on part of the Holy Shrine in Makkah.
The President of Al-Azhar Dr. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb expressed condolences to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz over the victims of the tragic accident.
The Grand Mufti of Egypt Dr. Shawqi Allam mourned the deceased and praised to Allah the Almighty to bestow them with his mercy.
The ministry of health said nine Egyptians were injured in the crane accident. (end) esm.bs
