NATO chief condemns terrorist attacks in Turkey

BRUSSELS, Sept 8 (KUNA) -- NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg Tuesday "strongly condemned" the recent terrorist attacks in Turkey.
"I extend my sincere condolences to the Turkish government and to the families and loved ones affected by the recent attacks against police and military officers," he said in a statement tonight.
"There is no justification for terrorism. We stand in solidarity with the people and the government of our Ally Turkey," added the NATO chief.
Ten Turkish police officers were reported killed in a bomb attack on a minibus in the eastern Turkish province of Igdir on Tuesday, two days after an attack killed 16 soldiers in Turkey's southeast Hakkari province. Both attacks are being blamed on the PKK militant group. (end) nk.bs
