Car bomb kills four policemen in southeast Turkey

ANKARA, Sept 3 (KUNA) -- Four policemen were killed on Thursday in a car bomb blast in Mardin town, south eastern Turkey.
Dogan News Agency reported that members belonging to Kurdish Workers Party (PKK) detonated a booby-trapped car that was parking on the side road in a police patrol, killing a senior officer and three other security personnel.
The security forces are combing the surrounding areas to arrest the attackers.
Over 72 security personnel and 20 civilians were killed in the armed attacks carried out by PKK militants since July 7.
Meanwhile, nearly 965 PKK militants were killed in the military operations launched by the Turkish forces since July 22. (end) rs.lb
