Saudi Arabia to boost businesswomen investment role

RIYADH, Sept 1 (KUNA) -- Saudi Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. Tawfeeq Al-Rabeea said Tuesday the 2nd National Forum for Businesswomen aimed at educating females about women-related investment in Saudi Arabia, to push forward development in the Kingdom.
He was speaking at the opening of the forum, organized by the Council of Saudi Chambers, which would discuss investments carried out by women in Saudi Arabia and means of developing them.
Al-Rabeea said the forum was important becaue it would highlight successful investment made by women at the local and international levels, as well as shedding light on challenges facing businesswomen.
Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Zamel, head of the Council of the Saudi Chambers, said the forum would contribute to exchanging expertise and know-how among businesswomen with the objective of boosting the women investments.
He said the Saudi business environment still needed development and improvement in many aspects.
The two-day forum is held under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz. (end) yms.bs
