1,325 people killed in Iraq in Aug. - UNAMI

BAGHDAD, Sept 1 (KUNA) -- The UN Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) said 1,325 Iraqis were killed in violent and terrorist acts, and armed conflicts in Iraq during the month of August this year.
It said in a statement that 585 people of those killed were civilians, while 1,811 others were injured.
Baghdad was the bloodies scene with 318 people killed, noted UNAMI.
UNAMI chief Jan Kubis said the successful implementation of the government's reform plan would have a major impact on restoring social justice in the country. (end) ahh.bs
