Roadside blast kills 6 people in S. Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD, Sept 1 (KUNA) - At least six civilians were killed and three others wounded in a roadside blast in Afghanistan's southern Ghazni province on Tuesday, said officials.
Ghazni governor's spokesman, Mohammad Shafiq Nang in a statement to media, said that the explosion took place when a rickshaw struck the roadside bomb in the Rubat area of Deh Yak district.
Three women, two children and a man were killed and three others injured, said Nang, adding that the ill-fated three-wheeler was its way from Deh Yak to Ghazni city, the provincial capital. Karimullah Amiri, Deh Yak's administrative chief, also confirmed the death toll saying that all victims were members of a family.
No group has so far claimed the responsibility of the blast but Taliban rebels have used roadside bombs to target the security forces and government convoys in the past. (end) sbk.ajs
