Saudi records 34 new coronavirus cases in the past week

RIYADH, Aug 31 (KUNA) -- Saudi Ministry of Health confirmed 34 new cases of the Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS CoV) in the past week, with 33 cases being in Riyadh and one is Najran.
According to the ministry's weekly report on the virus released on Monday, 15 of the cases were recorded at the ministry's hospitals and 19 in other clinics. It added that 1655 virus samples were tested in the ministry's laboratories in the same time period.
The total number of cases recorded since the outbreak of the disease that killed 485 people in the country totaled 1175, said the report, noting that 606 patients were cured (51.6 percent), while 57 are still receiving medical care and nine under in-home quarantine.(end) yms.ag
