Speaker Al-Ghanim in New York for UN parliamentary conf.

NEW YORK, Aug 30 (KUNA) - Kuwait's National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim arrived in New York Sunday to chair Kuwait parliamentary delegation to the Fourth World Conference for speakers of parliaments, to kick off tomorrow at UN Headquarters.
Upon their arrival, Al-Ghanim and his accompanied delegation were received by Kuwait's permanent representative to the UN Mansour Al-Otaibi and members of the Kuwait mission to the UN.
The overall theme of the conference, due until September 2nd, is to focus on peace, democracy, and development, as well as sustainable development goals beyond 2015. The conference features participation of 150 Speakers.
Speaker Al-Ghanim will deliver Kuwait's speech at the conference, held every five years at the UN, on Tuesday.
Al-Ghanim is also to hold a number of bilateral meetings, on the sidelines of the conference, with his international counterparts to boost bilateral parliamentary ties with Kuwait's National Assembly.
The Kuwaiti Parliamentary delegation includes MPs Dr. Yousef Al-Zalzalah, Saif Al-Azmi, Abdullah Al-Mayouf and Secretary General of National Assembly Allam Ali Al-Kandari. (end) mao.ma
