Iraqi parliament approves trade deal with Kuwait

BAGHDAD, Aug 30 (KUNA) -- The Iraqi House of Representatives approved, in the second reading Sunday, a trade cooperation agreement with the State of Kuwait amidst calls by MPs to further cement relations and cooperation with the neighboring Gulf country.
MP Adnan Al-Asadi, of the national coalition bloc, called for rapid endorsement of agreements between Iraq and Kuwait because they would contribute to improving bilateral relations, a statement by the parliament said.
MP Joseph Slaiwa called for expanding cooperation with Kuwait to include the military domain.
MP Nora Al-Bajari called for involving the chambers of commerce in Iraq and Kuwait to promote the cooperation, while MP Mohammad Naji of the national coalition called for offering facilities for Kuwaiti businessmen. (end) ahh.bs
