Violence claim lives of 6 people in central Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD, Aug 29 (KUNA) -- Six people were killed and nine others wounded in two separate violence incidents in Afghanistan's central Uruzgan province, said officials on Saturday.
Three policemen have been killed and eight others wounded in a roadside bomb explosion in Chori district, Police chief of Chori district, Abdul Malik told media.
Moreover, Taliban rebels killed at least three people including Provincial Ulema Council Head, Mawlawi Lal Mohammad in an ambush in Uruzgan province on Saturday.
Provincial governor spokesman, Dost Mohammad Nayab said that the incident took place on the Uruzgan-Kandahar highway while Provincial Ulema Council Head and the police security chief of the province were traveling together.
The security chief was unhurt but a policeman received injuries in the incident, said the governor. (end) sbk.ss
