CAIRO, Aug 27 (KUNA) -- Foreign Minister of Yemen Riad Yassin affirmed that there have been "positive signs" in the closeness of liberation of the capital, Sanaa, from the rebels.
The Yemeni minister made this remark, on Thursday, in a press conference after a meeting with Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Araby.
He added that the liberation of Taiz, the third largest city in Yemen, after undergoing a vicious attack by the Houthis is a major indication that the liberation of the capital is approaching, pointing out that there are many local resistance groups that support the legitimacy of the government.
In regards to the UN efforts to solve the Yemeni crisis, Yassin stressed that there will be no political solution unless all UN-related resolutions are being abide by, the legitimacy of the Yemeni government is being back in control and the Houthi weapons are being handed over.
Aside for the political crisis, the Yemeni official said that the humanitarian disaster at hand should be given attention and the rebels should seize battles to allow aid to get into the country.
He added that the protocol to create a joint Arab military force will be signed soon as stipulated at Sharm El-Sheikh meeting. (end) mfm.nfm
