Iraq parliament unanimously aproves parties law

BAGHDAD, Aug 27 (KUNA) -- The Iraqi Council of Representatives approved unanimously on Thursday a controversial draft law on political parties and organizations following an agreement by the various parliamentary blocs yesterday.
Secretary Niazi Oglu told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the House of Representatives voted unanimously on the parties law, including a clause on the prevention of the dissolved Baath Party from forming parties.
He added that the Council agreed in its meeting held under the chairmanship of President of the Council, Salim al-Jbouri in the presence of 220 deputies, on a clause banning judges, members of the electoral commissions and human rights or security bodies from forming parties.(end) mhg.tg
