WASHINGTON, Aug 27 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, late on Wednesday, concluded his five-day official visit to the United States and departed the nation.
He was seen off upon departure by the State of Kuwait Ambassador to the US Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the head of the Kuwaiti security bureau in Washington Colonel Khaled Al-Majed, staff of the Kuwaiti embassy and offices.
In a statement to KUNA prior to his departure, the minister said he discussed with US officials various issues, namely combating terrorism, information exchange and bolstering cooperation at the security level.
He praised the United States Department of Homeland Security, namely the minister Jeh Johnson, for providing lots of facilitations for the Kuwaiti nations, particularly with respect of visas, affirming that Kuwait aspires for further facilitation for the students and the patients seeking treatment in the US.
The minister indicated that a delegation, grouping technicians and experts of the MoI, would remain in the US to study DNA systems and would proceed to the UK for the same purpose.
The meeting was attended by Kuwaiti Ambassador to the US Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Kuwait's MoI's Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Security Affairs Major General Abdulhamid Al-Awadhi, Assistant Undersecretary for State Security Maj. Gen. Issam Salem Al-Nahham, and Colonel Khaled Al-Majed.(end) yt.rk
