KUWAIT, Aug 23 (KUNA) -- Production of the Shuaiba Refinery on Sunday hit 140,000 barrels, Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) announced.
KNPC spokesman Khaled Al-Asousi made the statement as the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) CEO Nizar Al-Adsani led a delegation from the KNPC and the KPC on a field visit to the Refinery today.
Al-Asousi, who is also KNPC Deputy CEO for Support Services, told KUNA that the delegation was briefed in detail on the repercussions of the accident that took place at heavy oil unit in Shuaiba recently.
The visit comes ahead of the reports and recommendations to be offered by specialized committees investigating the accident, he added. An external committee is determining causes and circumstances of what happened at the unit last Monday, while an internal one is assessing damages.
The delegation lauded the efforts by the staff for evacuation of the Refinery and containing the fire that resulted from caused by a gas leakage.
Al-Adsani was accompanied in his tour at Shuaiba by the CEO of KNPC Mohammad Ghazi Al-Mutairi and senior officials at the company. (end) osj.msa
