KUWAIT, Aug 17 (KUNA) -- Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) announced on Monday that all necessary precautions had been taken to contain fire that erupted at the demulsifiers of heavy crude at Al-Shuaiba oil refinery.
KNPC Acting Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Al-Jimaz told KUNA the fire broke out at 11:30 a.m., adding that all units at the refinery were shut and personnel were evacuated. All KNPC personnel and fire units have been put on maximum alert, he said, adding that "they are currently tackling the accident according to the emergency plan." Nobody was hurt in the accident.
