BEIRUT, Aug 5 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) announced here Wednesday that it will bear the expenses of prosthetic implants for Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
KRSC delegate Dr. Mus'ad Al-Enizi told KUNA that the society is currently following the medical cases of 10 Syrians who lost their limbs during the course of the Syrian conflict.
Prosthetic implants are very expensive; therefore, the KRCS will finance the medical recovery of Syrian refugees who lost their limbs, said Al-Enizi.
On her part, director of socio-medical services at the Lebanese Red Cross Laila Jaber welcomed the society's generous donation to help the Syrian refugees.
The cooperation between the Lebanese Red Cross and KRCS to provide Syrian refugees with prosthetics is an example of effective cooperation, said Jaber, affirming that both Lebanon and Kuwait were keen on helping the Syrians during their plight.
Reflecting the refugees' gratitude towards the KRCS gesture, refugee Nariman Othman thanked the society for providing the necessary funds to help her walk again.
Othman lost her leg during the crisis in Syria and now is able to move around thanks to KRCS. (end) mah.gta
