Fallon in Iraq, vows more aid for war against ISIL

BAGHDAD, Aug 3 (KUNA) -- British Secretary of Defense Michael Fallon arrived in Baghdad on Monday where he announced increased military support for the local government and air strikes against bases of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant.
Spokesman of the joint operations command colonel Yahiah Rasoul said in a statement that Fallon held immediate talks with his Iraqi counterpart, Khaled Al-Obaidi, adding that he discussed with his host increasing the British military support for the Iraqi forces to enhance the national forces' capacitites in the war against the ISIL.
London will provide Baghdad with bomb sensing devices and other equipment necessary for training the Iraqi forces, he said, re-affirming that the international coalition would increase the air strikes against the militants. (end) mhg.rk
