KUWAIT, Aug 2 (KUNA) -- Director General of the Environment Public Authority Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Humoud Al-Sabah called for coordination between public and private sectors to safeguard Kuwait's environment.
Protecting the national environment can be done through implementing the new relevant law, No. 42/2014, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ahmad said in statement during a meeting of the authority. He also called for establishing new divisions in EPA to facilitate implementation of the said law.
He touched on tasks of the recently-formed committee, charged with drafting relevant executive legislations. The panel held a meeting last month, seeking to harmonize different views on the issue.
EPA's meeting also dealt with closure of the central livestock butcher house in Al-Assima (the capital), relocating the facility and re-establishing it according to better health, safety and environmental standards. The talks also dealt with hazards on the environment, caused by camping. (end) mf.rk
