ASILAH, Morocco, July 28 (KUNA) -- A senior official at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information on Tuesday said that Kuwait is a digital media pioneer on the Arab level.
Talking to KUNA on the sidelines of a digital media forum held in Asilah, northern Morocco, Assistant Undersecretary for External Media and the Information Ministry Faisal Alآ Mutallaqem, emphasized media freedom in Kuwait promoting the society.
Al-Mutallaqem is attending the two-day forum on the Arab digital media at the age of information age, held on the sidelines of the Asilah Cultural Festival 2015, on behalf of Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah.
He underlined the great attention paid by the ministry and Sheikh Salman to digital media, manifested in multimedia and IT initiatives and training and cultural courses organized for Kuwaiti youth and civil society organizations, as part of an ambitious plan of the international media sector at the ministry, Mutallaqem noted.
According to the senior media official, up to 2,4 million people in Kuwait are using the internet and social networking. (end) adt.msa
