Palestinains stage cultural heritage march in Gaza

GAZA, July 25 (KUNA) -- Scores of Palestinians marched Saturday to the United Nations headquarters in Gaza to protest the Israeli attempts to steal Palestinian traditional outfits.
The move came after Israeli delegations to several international events have repeatedly appeared putting on traditional Palestinian costumes.
The marchers, including several Palestinian officials, hoisted banners and shouted slogans protesting the Israeli attempts to promote the Palestian traditional clothes as their own.
Ahmad Al-Layli, one of the organizers and member of the national committee to protect Palestinian traditions, said that a letter would be sent to the UNESCO to recognize and help safeguard Palestinian heritage. (end) wab.ibi
