KUWAIT, July 23 (KUNA) -- Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah stressed the importance of spreading Arab and Islamic cultures around the world.
The Minister made this remark to KUNA, on Thursday, before leaving for Italy to represent His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah at the opening of an exhibition on "Art in the Islamic Culture" which to take place in Scuderie del Quirinale museum in Rome.
The Museum will display the Sabah Collection; a collection of more than 20,000 objects representing different chronological and geographical points from the Islamic world. The Scuderie del Quirinale will only display a selected 363 objects. This participation comes as part of the Expo Milano 2015; a universal exhibition that Milan, Italy, is hosting from May 1 to October 31, 2015. It is a platform for more than 140 countries to share their culture, heritage, and tradition.
Kuwait has always paid interest to promoting culture in many world venues, Sheikh Salman, who is also chairman of National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, noted.
He added that this exhibition will provide a closer look to Arab and Islamic cultures to millions of tourists and visitors who flock to Italy, particularly Rome, during this time of year for recreation and closer look at the nation's historic treasures. (end) mdm.nfm
