GENEVA, July 22 (KUNA) -- A senior official of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said the State of Kuwait is the only Arab country amongst the ICRC's top ten contributors.
"Kuwait has joined the group of State contributors which offer multi-million contributions," Chairman of the ICRC's Foreign Resources Adeeb Al-Nahas said to KUNA here on Wednesday.
The ICRC official called on other Arab countries to seek to be part of the organization's list of contributors.
Kuwait has provided approximately USD 20 million for the Syrian people over the last three years, he added.
The ICRC's budget is mainly reliant upon funds offered by governments, the European Union (EU) and national charities as well as individual contributions, Al-Nahas pointed out. (end) akw.mt
