Arab League chief, UN's Libya envoy discuss developments

CAIRO, July 5 (KUNA) -- Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Araby and United Nations Secretary General's Special Representative for Libya Bernardino Leon discussed by phone the latest developments in Libya and the outcomes of UN-brokered national dialogue talks.
In a statement issued after the phone conversation, Al-Araby affirmed Sunday the league's support for efforts of Leon, urging Libyan political parties to sign the final draft political agreement.
He urged all Libyan parties and figures to swiftly sign the agreement and put the country's interest ahead of any other consideration in order to achieve the political transition process by forming a government of national unity so as to meet the aspirations of Libyan people and rebuild the state's institutions, the statement said.
