CAIRO, July 4 (KUNA) -- Egypt's security is a bulwark for the stability and security of the region, said President Abdulfatah Al-Sisi in a speech addressing the armed forces in Sinai and broadcast by state TV on Saturday.
He commended the armed forces for having foiled terrorist plots against the nation, and having killed at least 200 terrorists who sought to destabilize the country.
Wearing his military uniform, Al-Sisi assured the nation that everything was totally under control including the Sheikh Zuwayed area where insurgents clashed with the army.
He put the blame for the terrorist attacks in Sinai in part on some of the local and international media which unwittingly or not seemed to have stoked the fire of insurgency among the terrorists.
He appealed to the public to remain steadfast to the rule of law and to national solidarity in the face of the growing dangers of terrorism in the country and the region as well. (end) asm.ajs
