Iranian Pres. underlines importance of commitments to nuclear deal

(With POL-IRAN-NUCLEAR) TEHRAN, July 1 (KUNA) -- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has underlined that in case of striking a final nuclear deal, Tehran and the six world powers should show their commitments to the possible final agreement.
Quoted by Iran news agency (IRNA) Tuesday, president Rouhani added that "if the nuclear agreement is achieved we will be committed to fulfill it, but of course it is obvious that the other side will also be committed to fulfill it." The Iranian leader also said that "if one day they ignore the agreement, the Iranian government will be fully ready to reverse the path more seriously than what they can even dream of." Earlier, a spokesman for US delegation in Vienna said that Iran and the P5+1 group decided to push the June 30 deadline of their nuclear negotiations to July 7, in order to overcome technical and political hurdles hampering a final and comprehensive agreement.
German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said that reaching a final deal needs a political will with no room for interpretation on economic and financial sanctions.
"This will be important to bring the 10 year dispute to an end," Steinmeier said, pointing out that a solution to the Iran conflict could have positive influence on other conflicts in Middle East and to calm the situation in the region.
The German foreign minister added that he considers an agreement "possible" but this requires that Iran continues constructive engagement and avoids what he considered as diverse tactics. (end) mw.mb
