Kuwait calls for concreted efforts to combat terrorism - Al-Daihani

CAIRO, June 29 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's permanent representative to the Arab League Ambassador Aziz Al-Daihani stressed on Monday that Kuwait always calls for concerted Arab, Islamic and international efforts to combat terrorism.
The Ambassador said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) at the end of an emergency meeting of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent delegates that all these events prompted Kuwait to call for an extraordinary meeting of the Arab League Council, adding that today's session issued many statements with respect to such events.
He added that during the meeting, an Arab statement denouncing the recent events in Kuwait was issued following the meeting, pointing out that Arab countries offered condolences to His Highness the Amir, government and people of Kuwait.
He stressed that the participating delegations have supported Kuwait's measures it had taken right after the attack and expressed their full solidarity with it, pointing out that these measures have also been taken with regard to the events in Tunisia.
He explained that the delegates have also adopted a number of decision regarding the fight against terrorism.
The attack on Imam Al-Sadiq mosque claimed lives of 26 martyrs and injured 227 others. (pickup previous) mfm.aff.tg
