Saudi foreign ministry: cyber attack won't affect "state transparent policies"

RIYADH, June 21 (KUNA) -- Saudi Foreign Ministry said the cyber attack it has recently witnessed, which reportedly caused leakage of documents, would not affect "State transparent policies.
"The documents that have been leaked are consistent with the declared policy of the Foreign Ministry's statements regarding regional and international issues," Ambassador Osama Naqli, Director of Media Department, said in a statement to the press Saturday.
Naqli said investigations were underway with all relevant Saudi authorities regarding the cyber attack.
The foreign ministry has a high-security system, he said, "therefore the cyber attack could not reach most of the millions of highly-protected documents." Naqli said the foreign ministry would pursue all those behind the attack, which took place on May 23. (end) yms.bs
