ALGIERS, June 15 (KUNA) -- French President Francois Hollande Monday described his talks with his Algerian counterpart Abdulaziz Bouteflika as "constructive and important." The two-hour meeting touched upon many issues of mutual interest, he told a news conference following the summit talks.
He termed as "warm" bilateral relations with Algeria, which would contribute to address crises in the region and the world.
Hollande said they discussed the conflict in Libya, expressing hope to form a government of national unity.
He said France was active in the fight against terrorism in northern Mali, adding that Paris and Algiers needed to work together to address the security situation in the Sahel region.
Hollande, meanwhile, said French car-maker Peugeot was holding advanced negotiations with the Algerian authorities to establish a factory in the north African country. (pickup previous) ft.bs
