ISIL suicide attacks kill 13 personnel, injure 29 others in Iraq

BAGHDAD, June 13 (KUNA) -- At least 13 security personnel were killed Saturday and 29 others wounded in suicide care bombs attacks that targeted security posts in northern Tikrit, capital of Salahuddin governorate, in central Baghdad, said a security source.
The source told KUNA that the militants of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) targeted, with three explosive-laden cars, some posts of Salahuddin operation command and Al-Hashd Al-Shaabi in Al-Hajjaj village, south of Baiji city.
Security forces were deployed intensively following the incident, while helicopters of the Iraqi army were flying over the place to deal with any attack by the ISIL militants, the source added.
The Iraqi army said on June 7 that it had retaken Baiji city after some days of fierce fighting against the militants. (end) mhg.hm
