Al-Zayani praises efforts to foil terrorist scheme in Bahrain

RIYADH, June 8 (KUNA) -- Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani on Monday praised the efficiency of the security services in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which have succeeded in foiling a terrorist scheme, aimed at destabilizing the security and stability of Bahrain.
Al-Zayani said in a statement that the Bahraini security services revealed that this organization is linked to foreign terrorist parties, which prove that these parties are continuing in their subversive acts against the Kingdom of Bahrain, which has not stopped since 2011.
He stressed the position of the GCC countries in support of the Kingdom of Bahrain n all actions to maintain security and stability, calling for concerted regional and international efforts to fight all forms of terrorism and extremist ideas.
The Bahraini security forces on Sunday foiled a terrorist plan aimed at carrying out a series of criminal acts and arrested a number of those involved. (end) ad.ss
