NEW YORK, May 31 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah praised talents and efforts of Kuwaiti youth in all sectors, noting the government's keenness to foster and support their abilities.
The Minister's remarks were made to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) during his participation in the UNDP's Youth Employment Programme conference, held in New York late Saturday, where he discussed different topics with Kuwaiti youth taking part in the event. Meanwhile, Sheikh Salman honored Kuwaiti firefighter Dhari Al-Huwail for his efforts in presenting a bright picture about Kuwait on an international level.
Sheikh Salman, who also participated in a dinner ceremony held by the UN's General Assembly to celebrate 20 years of the Youth Employment Programme, praised the role of Kuwait's Permanent Delegate Mansour Al-Otaibi to allow Kuwaiti youth to take part in the conference.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs Sheikha Al-Zain Sabah Al-Nasser Al-Saud Al-Sabah on her part noted that Kuwaiti officials had met with both students and employees to learn of their needs and ambitions.
The Ministry will exert huge efforts to meet the demands of youth in order to create further development in their fields, she said, stressing the need for a national survey to provide youth with better services.
The meetings were also attended by Chairman of the Board of the Public Authority for Youth and Sport Sheikh Ahmad Mansour Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and top officials at the Authority and the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs. (end) mao.ag
