Differences remain after new round of US-Iran nuclear talks

GENEVA, May 30 (KUNA) -- The Iranian delegation, headed by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, and US counterpart, headed by John Kerry concluded six-hour talks over the final agreement on the Tehran's nuclear program without a significant progress.
A well-informed source told KUNA that the two delegations would meet again to discuss the sticking points of the deal on Thursday.
One of the main contentious points is the US and Western partners' demand for freedom of inspection of the Iranian military sites, a demand categorically rejected by Tehran.
The Saturday's talks in the run-up to a June 30 deadline came amid heightened diplomatic moves to try to end a 12-year standoff.
On April 2, Iran and six world powers agreed after eight days of tough talks in the Swiss city of Lausanne to the main outlines of a nuclear deal. But there are unresolved issues including whether International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) inspectors will get access to Iranian scientific and military sites to investigate alleged nuclear weapons research projects.
