OIC condemns foiled attack against Saudi mosque

JEDDAH, May 30 (KUNA) -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned Saturday the foiled "terror" attempt to explode a booby-trapped car in front of Al-Anoud Mosque, in the eastern city of Dammam.
OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani said that the attempt showed the ugly face of the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) which claimed responsibility for the crime of targeting worshipers and a worship place.
He stressed that such malicious schemes would not succeed in defragmenting the Saudi social fabric, but rather it would strengthen it.
Madani expressed his confidence that the Saudi authorities would track down the criminals, bring them to justice and uncover their affiliations.
The Secretary General offered his sincere condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for the quick recovery of the injured. (end) nh.ibi
