Egyptian court adjourns verdict in "Port Said" case

CAIRO, May 30 (KUNA) -- An Egyptian court on Saturday adjourned issuance of a verdict in the case of "Port Said stadium" incidents from early February to June 9th.
The Port Said Tribunal, at a session held at the policy academy and covered by the Egyptian Television, took the decision pending further examination of the case, to remain under censorship.
The court, on April 19th, decided to refer papers of 11 defendants to the Grand Mufti to sound out the religious authority' stand regarding the sentence that should be issued against the activists who had been involved in the deadly incidents. Up to 72 people died in the violence during a soccer match. (end) rg.rk
