DOHA, May 28 (KUNA) -- The Secretary-General of Kuwait National Assembly Allam Ali Al-Kandari underlined on Thursday the importance of developing the information network of GCC legislatures to contribute to the promotion of cooperation, integration and coordination at the international forums.
The development of the network will enable the GCC National Assemblies, Shura Councils and Parliaments to share expertise, Al-Kandari told KUNA after presiding over the Kuwaiti delegation to the 18th meeting of the GCC legislatures' Secretaries General, adding this move will also address the legislative and administrative deficiencies.
The Secretaries-General of GCC legislative councils prepare periodical training courses to upgrade performance of the secretariats' staff, he said.
He noted the two-day meeting discussed the committees' reports of the GCC legislatures' secretariats, especially the reports of committees of coordination, development and training, and exchange of information.
The conferees considered the main theme of the meeting "enhancing the legal and parliamentarian culture of staff of GCC legislatures' secretariats" and issued some recommendations in this regard, Al-Kandari said. He revealed that Kuwait will host the next meeting.
He expressed his gratitude to Qatar's Speaker of Shura Council Mohammad bin Mubarak Al-Khulaifi and Secretary General Fahad bin Mubarak Al-Khayareen for their efforts during the meeting.
The Kuwaiti delegation, headed by Al-Kandari, included a number of officials of the National Assembly, who took part in the gathering. (end) nnd.hm
