Kuwait team wins first place in group competition of West Asian Squash tourney

AMMAN, May 25 (KUNA) -- Kuwait national team won first place in group category after beating Iraq in the West Asian Squash Championship for Men, which concluded on Monday evening with participation of four countries.
The Kuwaiti team also won the first and second place in single category led by Abdullah Al-Mezayen and Ammar Al-Tamimi in this championship which was held in Al-Hassan International Squash Complex in Amman, Jordan, with participation Kuwait, Jordan, Iraq and Iran.
Al-Tamimi, in a statement to KUNA, said that the Kuwaiti team performed well in most of the matches, especially in the last clash against Iraq and managed to win despite the strength of their opponents.
For his part, head of the Kuwaiti delegation and Kuwaiti Squash Federation Secretary Fayez Al-Mutairi praised to KUNA the team for their efforts and achievement in this championship which included great players in the region.
Al-Mutairi also hailed the team's commitment in following instructions from the technical and administrative staff. (end) ab.mb
