KUWAIT, May 25 (KUNA) -- Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Bader Al-Essa said Monday 45 percent of Sabah Al-Salem University City in Al-Shedadiya have been completed, and the campus should be ready by 2019.
Earlier in the day, Al-Essa briefed the cabinet about the progress of construction of Sabah Al-Salem University City.
This was followed by detailed account on the project by Director of Kuwait University Construction Program (KUCP) Dr. Qutaiba Abdulrazzaq Razouqi who said the University City has been built on a total area of six million square meters.
It is divided into two parts, the first is the general campus that will embrace all Kuwait University scientific and humanities colleges. The other will include all the medical ones.
Al-Essa was speaking to reporters on sidelines of a reception held by the Jordanian Embassy to mark the Kingdom's 69th Independence Day.
He said around 6,000 Kuwaitis would be finishing their studies in Jordan, while the Ministry of Higher Education was providing scholarships for Jordanian citizens in Kuwait University and the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET).
Al-Essa wished Jordan progress and prosperity on the occasion of the country's independence day. (end) hrz.bs
