Wild eagle IV war games complete with success - Qatari commander

DOHA, May 23 (KUNA) -- The Qatari Armed Forces, jointly with the armies of 27 countries including Kuwait and Italy, have successfully concluded the fourth military exercises, codenamed "wild eagle IV," on Saturday.
Over the last 12 days the participants in the various stages of the exercises were able to find effective solutions to field problems, Chief of Staff of the Qatari Army Air Marshal Ghanim Ali Al-Ghanim told reporters at the closing ceremony.
"The troops showed a high level of preparedness, discipline and accuracy during the field operations, firing and dexterous parachuting," he affirmed.
"The exercises proved to be a complete success and provided an opportunity to share experience with sisterly and friendly countries, notably Kuwait and Italy," Al-Ghanim said, noting that the participating troops showed a great deal of harmony.
"The final stage featured wonderful coordination in terms of command and control which drew admiration of spectators, among who were several diplomatic and military top brass," he added.
On his part, Brig. Staff Jassem Al-Muhannadi, head of the national defense and crisis management center and director of the exercises, said the activities include drills on crisis management and combatting weapons of mass destruction attacks, terrorism and piracy.
The drills involved the various sectors of the participating armies with a view to making sure of their preparedness to address any eventuality, he added. (end) nnd.gb
