Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad pays tribute to ex parliament speaker

KUWAIT, May 23 (KUNA) -- Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on Saturday recalled the deceased former parliament speaker, Jassem Al-Kharafi, whose great national role would be highlighted in Kuwait's history records.
The former National Assembly speaker was sincerely and affectionately attached to Kuwait and all his deeds aimed at serving the country's interests, its stature and stability, said the minister in a statement to KUNA.
He was among a countable number of personalities distinguished with wisdom, experience, confidence, modesty and love for the homeland, Sheikh Mohammad said of Al-Kharafi who was laid to rest on Friday, and was eulogized by His Highness the Amir and senior leaders.
The minister indicated in his eulogy of the veteran politician that Al-Kharafi sought neither fame, nor position, when he served as the parliament speaker, for he was solely motivated by desire to serve Kuwait. (end) tb.rk
