KUWAIT, May 23 (KUNA) -- Deputy chairman of the National Guard Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah eulogized former National Assembly speaker Jassem Al-Kharafi who passed away on Thursday at the age of 75.
"The State of Kuwait has lost one of its great and sincere men who dedicated his life for serving the country and the Arab and Muslim nations," Sheikh Mishal said in a statement to KUNA.
"Al-Kharafi was a dear friend and a true brother of mine with noble ideals; he left apparent traces on almost all events witnessed by Kuwait.
"As a politician, he held honest and firm stances and used to have a clear vision and long experience that led to a rich legacy of patriotic achievements," Sheikh Mishal said.
He added that the late parliament speaker served as minister of finance and was a successful businessman who contributed to the country's economic development and national unity and to the realization of the citizens' aspirations. (end) hb.gb
