KUWAIT, May 18 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has inked a contract with an Indian company to build a 240 MW power station at Al-Ahmadi refinery at a total cost of KD 21.8 million (USD 71.8 million).
The KOC's CEO Eng. Mohammad Al-Mutairi told KUNA Monday that the contract was signed with the Indian Larsen and Toubro Company to build the new power station to replace the current one.
He noted that the new station would have an explosion-proof design and employ the state-of-the-art technology for operation and control.
The station would also raise power supply to the refinery from the current 180 MW to the planned 240 MW following its full operation, he said. (end) asj.ht.msa.ibi
