Al-Ghanim voices support to Senate of Pakistan proposal for Asian parl't

ISLAMABAD, May 13 (KUNA) -- Enhancing parliamentary cooperation and exchange of legislative expertise were the focus of talks held on Wednesday between visiting Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim and Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan Raza Rabbani.
During the meeting, attended by Al-Ghanim's accompanying delegation, the Kuwaiti chief parliamentarian reiterated support to a proposal by the Senate of Pakistan to establish an Asian parliament to be based in Islamabad.
He hoped the proposed continental body would help fulfil Asian peoples' expectations for closer and stronger ties.
Al-Ghanim and Rabbani also discussed activating the role of parliamentary friendship committees and bolstering bilateral cooperation on the world arena.
They also addressed regional and international developments and other issues of common concern. (Pick up previous) am.msa
