Some 42 Syrian troops, ISIL members killed in Syria clashes

AMMAN, May 9 (KUNA) -- Some 42 people were killed amid clashes between the Syrian army and Islamic State (ISIL) militants in Damascus Countryside and Al-Hasaka, northeast of Syria, said reports on Saturday.
Syrian opposition fighters managed to blow up a building where members of the Syrian army had been hiding in Damascus Countryside, leading to the death of 15 soldiers, according to Syria Live Network also known as Syria Mubasher.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said that three members of the Syrian army and forces loyal to the regime were killed during armed clashes with the Islamic Battalions fighting in the area surrounding Al-Nabi Younis in Latakia's Northern Countryside.
In Al-Hasaka, fierce clashes continue between the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) and Islamic State militants in several districts across the northwestern Al-Hasaka Countryside.
The fighting witnessed two ISIL members blowing themselves up on board two explosive-strapped vehicles.
Also, YPG fighters accompanied by Syriac Military Council and Khabour Guards fighters were involved in separate clashes with ISIL in the Tal Tamer neighbourhood of Al-Hasaka. (end) tk.sd
