AMMAN, May 6 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Ambassador to Jordan Dr. Hamad Al-Duaij delivered over USD 36,000 in donation to Nablus Open University for setting up a computer lab on campus, a university official said on Wednesday.
Receiving the donation was the president of the university Dr. Yusuf Awad who told KUNA that the amount of the donation (exactly USD 36,630) would equip a lab with 30 computers.
Kuwait had previously donated USD 250,000 for construction purposes at the university, said Dr. Awad, noting that the donation for the computer lab would solve immense problems for students who could not afford getting their own computers at home.
He further said that once finished, a new college on the campus, currently being built, would be named after His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
He thanked the Kuwait embassy in Amman for facilitating the delivery of Kuwaiti aid to the Palestinian people. (end) ab.ajs
