Shell kills 2 Saudi people, injures 3 others near Yemen borders

JEDDAJH, May 6 (KUNA) -- Two Saudis have been killed by a military shell that fell on a border village in the Kingdom's southwest Jazan Province, the authorities said on Wednesday.
The Jazan Civil Defense received a report late on Tuesday that a building in the village of Al-Bahteet was hit by a military shell, a spokesman of the Jazan Civil Defense Directorate Yahya Al-Qahtani said.
The shell struck the house of a Saudi family, killing the parents and seriously injuring a relative, 17. Other two people near the site almost suffocated, and the injured were hurried to hospital for treatment, Al-Qahtani added.
Civil officials in Jazan held a meeting to discuss further measures to maintain people's safety.
This was the second attack on the Kingdom's border areas with Yemen yesterday, after Houthi militants indiscriminately pounded civilian targets in the southern city of Najran leaving three people killed and several others injured. (end) nh.msa
