ROME, May 5 (KUNA) -- Kuwait is eager to broaden its media and cultural ties with Italy, said Kuwait's Minister of Information and State Minister for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud Al-Sabah on Tuesday.
He declared that as he visited the headquarters of the Italian national television (RAI) and RAI's second channel (Tg2) which invited him to address the Italian people via its news program.
In remarks to KUNA, the minister said he toured the TV station's studios and saw its use of digital and HD transmission, noting that his ministry was interested in cooperating with RAI on the use of new technologies.
Tg2 director Marcello Masi said his station is the third largest TV news channel in Italy and it focuses on international politics and global concerns, among other things.
Sheikh Salman, along with Kuwait's ambassador in Italy Sheikh Ali Al-Khaled Al-Sabah and Board Chairman and Director General of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Sabah and a delegation accompanying them toured the Italian National Archives Center, housing -- among other things -- rare manuscripts and documents.
Sheikh Salman discussed with the caretaker of the Center Eugenio Lozada means of cooperation between the archives center and the Kuwait National Library. (end) mn.ajs
