Bus fire kills 11 people, wounds 40 others in S. Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, May 3 (KUNA) -- At least eleven people were killed and forty others injured when a wedding party bus caught fire due to falling of electric wires on it in Pakistanآ’s southern Dadu district on Sunday.
The bus burst into flames at the Khairpur Nathan Shah bypass upon impact with a high-voltage electric cable, according to police. The injured were immediately shifted to the nearby Mahr and Larkana hospitals.
The dead included seven women and three children, said police. Many of the injured were reported critical and the death toll is feared to rise.
Earlier in January, a fatal bus accident claimed the lives of at least 62 people when the bus caught fire after an oil tanker collided with it off the National Highway in Malir area of southern Pakistan. (end) sbk.mt
