Four airstrikes in Syria, 16 in Iraq target ISIL - coalition

WASHINGTON, April 28 (KUNA) -- Coalition military forces continued to attack ISIL terrorists, conducting four airstrikes in Syria and 16 in Iraq, the Combined Joint Task Force announced on Tuesday.
In Syria near Al Hasakah, three airstrikes struck two ISIL fighting positions, destroying an ISIL armored vehicle, the statement said.
Near Ain Al-Arab, or Kobane, an airstrike destroyed an ISIL fighting position, it said.
In Iraq near Al Huwayjah, two airstrikes struck two ISIL staging areas, the statement said.
Near Bayji, two airstrikes struck two ISIL tactical units, destroying two ISIL fighting positions, two ISIL warehouses and an ISIL motorcycle, it said.
Near Fallujah, two airstrikes struck two ISIL tactical units, destroying two ISIL fighting positions, two ISIL vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices, an ISIL mortar system and an ISIL heavy machine gun, it said.
Near Mosul, northern Iraq, five airstrikes struck two ISIL tactical units and two ISIL checkpoints, destroying two ISIL excavators, an ISIL fighting position and an ISIL vehicle, it said.
Near Ramadi, an airstrike destroyed an ISIL excavator, the statement said.
Near Sinjar, an airstrike struck an ISIL tactical unit, destroying an ISIL building and an ISIL fighting position, it said.
Near Tal Afar, three airstrikes struck three ISIL tactical units, destroying an ISIL excavator, an ISIL building and an ISIL machine gun, it said. (end) rm.bs
