MOSCOW, April 28 (KUNA) -- A visiting Kuwaiti parliamentary delegation, headed by MP Saud Al-Hereiji, held talks Tuesday with First Deputy Foreign Minister Alisher Kurmanov on the means of boosting bilateral ties.
The talks also considered backing Kuwait's bid for a non-permanent seat at the United Nations Security Council for 2018-2019 and easy entry visa for Kuwaitis wishing to visit Uzbekistan, a parliamentary source told KUNA.
Building a direct flight between the two countries was also the focus of the talks, the source added, noting the delegation members also held talks with Deputy Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade Alisher Maksutov.
They dealt with some issues related to economic cooperation and investment as well as ways of increasing trade exchange between the two countires, it made clear.
Earlier on Monday, the Kuwaiti delegation held talks with a number of Uzbekistani counterparts as part of the official two-day visit to the Central Asian country.
During the the meeting, the Uzbek side extoled the role of Kuwait in financing projects in Uzbekistan.
The delegation, which includes MPs Mohammad Al-Enzi, Dr. Ahmad Al-Azmi, Hamdan Al-Azmi, Humoud Al-Hamdan and Mohammad Al-Hadiya, is set to head to Azerbaijan later on to meet with MPs there on cooperative relations. (end) as.hm
