Kuwaiti parliamentary delegation, led by MP Saud Al-Hereiji meets with a host of Uzbek counterparts
MOSCOW, April 27 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti parliamentary delegation, led by MP Saud Al-Hereiji, met Monday with a host of Uzbek counterparts as part of an official two-day visit to the Central Asian country.
The visit is part of a tour that will also include Azerbaijan and last till May 2.
The delegation first met with Vice Speaker of the Oliy Majlis (parliament) of the Republic of Uzbekistan and then with head of international relations committee at the Uzbek Senate Sadiq Safayev, where bilateral relations and issues of common interest were discussed.
The Uzbek side extoled the role of Kuwait Fund for Development in financing projects in Uzbekistan, while Kuwait held high Uzbekistan's support in Kuwait's bid to attain a rotating seat at the UN Security Council for 2018-2019.
The Kuwaiti delegation has also extended an invitation to visit Kuwait for both Parliament Speaker Nurdinjon Ismailov and Chairman of the Senate Nigmatulla Yuldashev.
The delegation includes MPs Mohammad Al-Enzi, Dr. Ahmad Al-Azmi, Hamdan Al-Azmi, Humoud Al-Hamdan and Mohammad Al-Hadiya. (end)
